Nike Mercurial Vapor Superfly Available Again

Since Nike released the Mercurial Vapor Superfly there has been a lot of interest surrounding these high technology yet super expensive boots. Soon after they were released earlier in the year Nike found that there were some issues with the make-up of the boots which meant that in the wrong circumstances they weren’t as strong as they should have been. Not good for a global company in an area that malfunctions are picked up very quickly.

So Nike have been back in the development labs, re-looked at the components which were failing, sent loads of testers out to the professionals for use and now today you can see the all new Nike Mercurial Vapor Superfly, also seen in it’s latest colourway, Black and Voltage Yellow.

Available for pre-order now at the not insignificant price of £225, with a release date of the 1st August, Nike have taken feedback from the professionals about how and where the boots were failing, and have increased the durability of the flywire threads which run across the boot like cables on a suspension bridge. This lightweight construction technique means that the upper on the vapor superfly can be ultra thin without compromising the shape of the boot, which allows for greater feel between the foot and the ball, whilst also allowing for a player to play in the lightest boot ever made.

So, you’ve decided that you want a pair but are a little wary after Nike pulled the first vapor superfly from sale? A very fair point given the price that these are, but Nike say that you can buy these in full confidence after the amount of time and effort that has gone into these boots, and if we’re honest they wouldn’t let something happen to them again or their reputation would be hugely damaged.

As for the new colourway – we like it. Black gives an impression of a leather upper, which although it isn’t one, always looks ‘right’ on a football boot, yet with the ‘Voltage Yellow’ swoosh the boot still manages to attract attention. This boot will look good in the new season, so if you want to get yours ahead of pre-season training then pre-order it now here!
